As for the OP can you elaborate on what "non violent" type of criminals you had unlimited funding to target. I realize most of the gang activity is in Baltimore maybe because MSP doesn't maintain a large presence in the city was some of the issue? I realize there are gangs and gang members throughout the ENTIRE state but the main focus continues to be in Baltimore City and the touching counties which MSP typically doesn't patrol or do active primary investigations in.

Is MSP a member of a gang "Task Force" set up like there is for Warrant's and Auto Thefts?

Welcome and thank you for the helpful insight. Personally, I have spoken to a few LEO's at different levels of law enforcement and many more are looking to either retire early or just get out and start a security firm, the reason? They say it is expected that the bad guys are against them and their efforts, but it is NOT expected from within their own ranks. We applaud you and your efforts to help correct the unjust brought against the law abiding here on these forums and elsewhere. If you decide to ever run for an official "office" of sorts, I am sure there many here who would help support your campaign. We need the truth from those behind the enemy lines! IMHO an example of a non violent gun owner would be;
1. A firearm purchase was not-disapproved, but was later redetermined to be a banned configuration.
2. Someone who purchased a hunting license, then their name cross checked against another database which indicated they may be prohibited
3. A son that bought a firearm improperly as a gift to his father.
4. etc.

Thanks very much for confirming what we here have strongly suspected all along. It doesn't come as a surprise that MD's dirty political machine misdirects public resources to target political opposition instead of criminals.

Gangs are the primary reason I want to ccw. Whenever you hear violence reported almost always the police is quick to report that the victim knew the attacker or contributed to the encounter. What scare me the most is gangs. They will attack someone for initiation without any provocation or prior encounter.

For the record that is VERY rare and outside the modus operandi of most criminal gangs.

With the current massive prison population across the country - and - continually decreasing crime across the country - does anyone think that the record number of inmates and falling crime rates may be related? The ultra-liberals want to start letting these guys out because we must be violating these guys' rights or some class of people's rights by keeping them incarcerated for the terms imposed by the judges who sentenced them.

It logically follows that crime could be reduced even more by following Jack's suggestion and locking these specific criminals up ... but just as importantly - keeping them and their fellow felons IN PRISON

I can't seem to find it right now, and I can't stand to spend much time on Brownstain's website, but didn't Brownstain's economic forecasts include significant budget savings from reduced inmate populations? Does this indicate that there will be instructions to focus even less on incarcerating violent, drug and gang related criminals?

your wrong on that, lots of them white boys go in and come out DMI, not that DMI is representing too much on the street. The bloods have a respectable presence in Salisbury as they already own most territory in VA beach and B more. Salisbury and the eastern shore are prime shipping routes for drugs coming up from the south toward NJ and NYC, and an alternate route for the DC / Baltimore/ philly area. Illegal guns bought mostly in Virginia, are consistently moving towards NYC, as are untaxed cigarettes. The more the northern states ban things, the more valuable that route becomes. Pretty soon bootleg soda will be running north.

I can promise you that if you eliminated every club from the state of MD, 1%'rs, family clubs, LE-MCs, VMCs, etc tomorrow, you wouldn't even notice the change.

I see The Buffalo Soldiers (a black MC club by the way) every August at the Carroll County corn roast, and if they are crooks, they surely have me 'buffaloed'.

I am not a 1%'er but I don't appreciate you telling me or accusing me and my family of being violent gang members akin to MS-13. I doubt very much you would do that to my face.

Ignorant? I'm in a MC. Don't tell me what MCs are all about. I live it. While I'm not a 1%'er I know plenty of them.

Tell you what, why don't you talk to the gang task force. Sure they have jackets on the 1%'ers. Ask them who the most violent criminals are or who commits the vast majority of violent crimes. Hint, it's the black and latino gangs of the inner city which is what the OP's link was referring to.

That report has an entire chapter on the drug activities and violence of some MCs. They list the Iron horsemen, Outlaws, Pagans, Titans, Hells Angels, Demon Souls and Thunderguards.

Like it or not, 1%er MCs are part of the gang problem. They dont tend to murder much but they distribute plenty of meth and cocaine.
