Not any of the bug people I know. They strip the bigger hunks of meat off, remove the eyes, and ream the brain out first, and some will semi dry the meat. When the skulls are cleaned by the bugs, they degrease them, sometimes by soaking for a month or more in a dawn soap/water mix that gets changed out often (less time for deer, more time for bear and other greasy animals). Final step is whitening in peroxide.

Another method of non-boiling is maceration which is trimming off as much flesh as possible, removing eyes, and reaming the brain, then soaking in plain water for days or weeks depending on the water temp and size of skull. The meat rots off into goop and the skull is very clean when done. It's VERY stinky. Rinsing the goop off and then degreasing/whitening, and some air-out time.

Sunday night, shot at 12 yards after freezing me for a good long time. Crashed within 30.

I've hunted my azz off the last week and NOTHING. Slow this year for me :(

Be careful not to burn out your area too early in the season. I generally don't get serious about bow season till late October. I'm primarily head hunting but, it's the cooler weather that spawns heavier deer activity. Things should break loose soon.
