Filled out my paperwork on a stripped lower yesterday and when I asked the dealer when to come back to pick it up, I was told come back in 10 days. I asked why 10 days, I thought the wait is only 7 days. They then told me "Sundays don't count"

This isn't a post to bash the dealer and I'm not mad about the issue. I'm still waiting on parts for that build anyway

But I picked my handgun up in exactly 8 days with no issues. Is it different when buying a lower or what?

Sundays count. Obviously this dealer does not know or understand Marylandistan law. But then again, the laws are mean to confuse.

    In fairness to the dealer...

There are some things for which Sundays count, and some that don't... but damned if I can keep them straight.

As for "exactly 7 days"??? The law states "after" 7 days, so 8th day release is legal. I would hope that's what you meant.

Yea I meant I waited exactly 7 days. Picked up on 8th. Different dealers though

I edited my first post. I worded it wrong

Is this like the blue laws of old, 70's, where you couldn't buy tampons or dog food on Sundays?

You didn't know on Saturday that you were going to need tampons and dog food the next day? :lol2:

I just found it odd. I would of thought nothing of it if they just told me to come back in 10 days, but when they said Sundays don't count, that threw me off

Yes you can not pick up on Sundays or a Holiday from what I remember if the 8th day falls on one of those.

    You know...cause that makes sense.

No, stores with over X number of employees had to be closed on Sunday.
Hechinger's started bucking the trend, by opening on Sunday with the maximum allowed employees. Then they pushed it more and more, until they went away.

google is your friend, I am not.
The dealer I bought a handgun from would not let me pick up on Sunday. Because, they were closed Sunday (and Monday). There is no law about it, some places just dont want to pay operating expenses on slow days.

So if sunday is the 8th day, pick up on tuesday (10th day).

Read the back of the MSP form (77r?) it states you can't transfer it on a Sunday or Holiday if I recall.
