Not completely a dupe. This one says the muzzle device is pinned, unlike the original posting when it was removable.

Why settle for a 16 inch with a fugly and useless 5 inch muzzle break when you could just buy the 18inch model and be good? Love my 18 inch fde tavor!

18" is still not legal. Under 29" long.

You need an 18" and still pin/weld on a muzzle device.

The model TAVOR® SAR RS (TSB18RS) is built on the 18″ barrel model and features a non-removable 2″ muzzle break that yields an OAL of 30″ and is supplied with a 10-round magazine.

Geezus on the price tag though. I thought the price on them had gone down some overall to like 1600.00. I mean how much more could it be for the muzzle break thing?

That is probably MSRP. And they will probably sell for that price for a while. People who did not get one pre-Oct.

Once the initial rush, expect the actual selling price to drop.

So excuse me for asking -- hard to keep up with all this crap - I know MSP recently put out a paper that I thought listed the Tavor as banned. So now the Tavor must have a pinned muzzle break? I know some dealers were selling them a few months ago with just the longer muzzle break attached "unpinned" to meet the OAL requirement (is that still legal?)

No. It has to be permanently attached to count as barrel length.

This thing doesn't look like a real bitter pill to swallow if you're into this type of rifle. I kinda like it.

The ATF paper on measuring, does not say anything about pinned/welded for muzzle devices to be included for OAL measurement. They DO state that requirement for the barrel length measurement.

MSP uses the BATFE method for measuring.

But BATFE put out a letter of interpretation that stated that for muzzle devices to be included in the OAL have to be permanently attached.

    Not really. Fairly nicely balanced.

My wife calls it snuggly. :)

Whatever, as long as she says yes. :)

Plan D? Not worth the hassle.

it was msrp + 200 . But I twas pre october 2013. I heard of $ 2500 $2700 as well. So take that for what its worth. Hell if we kill this Bill a lot of us are going to take a hit and have to buy more stuff to make ourselves feel better :)

It will come down, and now that there is no rush-- why rush ?
