Has anyone ever used 199Trust to get their NFA trust completed? I know the general consensus around these parts is to use Rusty (which was also my plan but I am still trying to save up for him), but Gear Hog is having a deal to get one through 199Trust for $69.

Was wondering if it was a good idea to jump on this or not

    Thanks

Looks like a great deal. I don't know enough about it to be an authority but the guarantee and refund policy looks very fair.

The only thing I wonder about is that they are not attorneys but yet are still preparing a legal document

    Yeah worries me.

Something this important, I know some people are comfortable with just using willmaker or whatever and normally I'm all for do it yourself but when it comes to NFA - I just had a lawyer take care of it.

Too important to cheap out on for me. :)

All I can suggest is hire a attorney that has passed the Bar in the State you are currently living in.
With the prices of Transferable MGs easily between 20 and 40 thousand, I would NEVER trust my NFA
Trust to a bargain basement 69.00 maybe attorney. A excellent attorney is always money well spent.

A discount lawyer is like a discount tattoo , or a discount parachute.

My Father has some of those discount Tattoo's, He got them done on a ship when he was in the Navy. LOL he has Sweet & sour nipples some blob of a ship on a shoulder and his name in reverse on a arm. When someone asks why is it backwards he tells the so he could read it drunk in a mirror. They look like shitty jailhouse tattoo's from the 1950s. LOLOLoL

    Who is this "Rusty"?
Looking into creating a Trust & am so confused on where to start... I have however concluded I want to set on up with a real live person/lawyer.
Any help getting started would be appreciated.

Board member Rusty Shackleford. He has a subforum in the IP section, near the bottom.

Rusty Shackelford is a Attorney and is a IP here. Check in the IP section and you will find his information.

Anybody know of a good one in So MD?

Personally I would use Rusty Shackelford listed in the IP section here I myself did not use him for my trust but he comes highly recommended by the membership here. I would think you can do everything over the phone / email or mail.

If you want somebody local I would talk to Larry Cumberland at Cumberland & Erly in Prince Frederick. 410-535-5300.

199trust.com isn't licensed in the state of Maryland, thus can not practice law here. They farm it out to others, who also may or may not be licensed in Maryland. Remember that Maryland doesn't allow anyone who isn't a member of the general bar to practice law here.

I'd personally pay someone licensed in Maryland for a trust that you know is absolutely legal here in Maryland.
