hey folks, just need to confirm...
do 22lr reps fall under 1 purchase in 30 days rule? I just bought an AK and AR lower which put me in a 60 day more purchase and I don't have my collectors license yet...

so i'm looking at picking up an HK mp5 and maybe a SCAR rep, but don't know if I now need to wait 2 months.

I was told these were cash & carry and non-regulated, but I don't know if 30 day rule still applies to non-regulated guns.

If it's not regulated by the state, you can do as you please. The shop will run you through the NICS and you can go home with your purchase :)

    Great, thank you!

And if buy online, say on Gunbroker, they still have to go through FFL transfer, right?

Oh and nothing changing comes 10/1 when it comes to 22lr, even reps? So 2 our 3 rule won't apply to the .22 rifles unless model is specifically stated, right?

You can buy an unregulated long gun from adjacent states to MD at an FFL dealer. Some shops won't do it, most will. Most places just need your MD Drivers License. This is no "loophole", They will do the Fed background check just like in MD.
You can buy it from a person in state (like from classifieds). Seller's may have you sign a form or look up your name/address in the state/local arrest records that are online.
A 22 handgun is treated like any other handgun.
SB281 stated that 22 rifles are not going to be restricted.
A 22 with a short enough barrel can become regulated (considered a handgun) if the barrel is not long enough (Correct?)

I believe it would have to meet several criteria, e.g. overall length, detachable magazine over 10 rounds, etc. right?

If you mean a short-barreled rifle (SBR) with a barrel less than 16 inches, then it's class III NFA and requires federal registration and a tax stamp. Simply possessing the rifle and barrel as separate pieces can be an arrestable felony offense per "constructive possession".

No, the criteria for copy cat firearms starts with CENTERFIRE RIFLES.

.22 is not centerfire, so you stop there.

Also, don't forget that after 10/1, even .22 magazines are limited to 10 rounds to buy or transfer in MD. You can buy larger out of state.

But if you buy a gun off of Gun Broker and have it shipped to an MD FFL, they cannot give you the magazine.

Of course, there are IP FFLs in adjoining states who can transfer the firearm with the magazines.

Federal law only requires that inter state transfers go through an FFL and that the recipient has to be physically present at the FFL for the transfer. NO requirement as to what state this occurs.

Not sure if they are an AK action.

Most .22s are blow back. So they LOOK like an AK, but do not function like an AK. No gas system at all.
