So under the grandfather cause, can I keep my currently owned AR-15 with multiple "evil features" along with my purchased out of state 30 rd mags?
Was this really unclear? Serious question, because I felt like it was crystal clear.

What happens if you are not allowed to pocess ammunition? The 3rd reading of the bill states that you can only pocess ammunition if you are allowed to own a regulated firearm...it doesn't say if you are 18...it says "REGULATED".

Real life situation A: You have been in a mental hospital and now can not own a regulated firearm. The bill authorizes the police to confiscate your ammo as well as a firearm.

    1. Can that mentally ill person still buy ammo legally in the state of Maryland?

    2. Would a Maryland ammo vendor have a requirement now to check with the State that everyone that wants to buy ammo can legally own a "regulated firearm" before allowing that person to buy ammo?

Real Life Situation B: I don't want to buy another gun. I just need ammo for regulated guns that I already legally own.

    1. If you don't go through the training and pay the state for finger printing and licensing fee to get a Qualification License to buy a regulated firearm, how do you buy ammo from a ammo vendor in Maryland? Would a Maryland ammo vendor have a requirement now to check with the State that everyone that wants to buy ammo can legally own a "regulated firearm" before allowing that person to buy ammo?

Is there anything about a threaded barrel and an AR-15 platform? Specifically, if you have an HBAR with a pistol grip and a flash hider can you simply remove the flash hider to remove the registration requirement?

Are muzzle brakes considered flash hiders?

Yes, assuming you also have a fixed stock.

Depends - does it reduce flash? Some of them attempt to do both.

If i have registered stripped lowers before the ban can i build them out in whatever config i want? Or do i have to technically have them all built by October?

Most of my pistols have threaded barrels, my sig came from the factory with one...i bought one for a glock, m&p and a mosquito, do i have to reregister them somehow to keep the threaded barrels or any pistol i own before oct 1, i can add threaded barrels too

I can buy suppressors and add them to any host i have registered by oct, without any issues (pistols or rifles)

    Thanks for doing this thread.

He probably does. But I hope he is better versed in this stuff than I am. I run two businesses, read a lot and have a degree in bio with a chemistry minor and damn if I can figure this crap out. However general population in the lock up seems like a bad idea.

Good point! If you don't jump through the hoops you can also see general population fron the inside.

My question is shotguns. Are evil features only a problem on semi auto shotguns? Is a Rossi Circuit Judge okay even though it revolves? How about a Mossberg pump gun with a collapsible stock and pistol grip?

Erwos, thank you for doing this.

I have updated the (admittedly Byzantine) flowchart:

OK, does barrel length (AR15) include muzzle brake if pinned..?

Otherwise that makes pretty much all rifles under 16" (that says go to step 1) (and has detachable magazine(yes)) regarless of "feature set" outlawed...!!

Yes, that's why the ** in that box. Gray (or should I write "grey" for you Trooper ;D) area about SBR's right now.

Happy to fix this if anyone has a viable interpretation.

Erwos seems to have the best take on SBR in the FAQ.

Barrel length does include permanently attached items (such as pinned/welded muzzle devices)

I have 3 AW with the MSP77R-2 forms so I can keep them for the are grandfathered.

What do I have to do to keep the below 4 AW:

One was purchased in 1973 in Washington DC.
3 others were purchased 1983, 86 and 87 and these dealers are no longer in business but I have sales receipts.

I hope the answers are acceptable to retain.

Question: I buy a CZ 82 with my C&R tomorrow. I have to register it with MSP before the new year, yes, since I didn't buy it through a regulated FFL dealer in MD (?)

I assume that is meant to read "equal to" 16" OR longer...??
