I've learned the hard way that you get what you pay for. I will gladly pay for quality work that only has to be done once.

    Great experience with Scott's!

I just got back this afternoon from a trip to Scott's to pick up an AR I'd dropped off to have some work done. I had recently bought a VLTOR A5 stock system and tried to install it myself, only to find out that the buffer tube was reaaaally stuck on there. I posted on MDshooters to try to see if anyone could shed some light on the subject, and Clandestine spent a good half hour or an hour watching my thread and posting helpful replies.

Despite his best efforts to help me, I didn't manage to get the tube off. I went to Scott's with the stock and all and dropped it off Tuesday. I had a busy week, so I didn't manage to call to see if it was done until today, but I was pleasantly surprised that they'd managed to fit me in between all of the custom work they do. Drove up, picked it up, and came home a happy customer. I had never used a gunsmith in the area, and now I'm sold. Scott's now has one more loyal customer!

Here she is, all dressed up with the new stock on. I just need to trim up the sling, and she'll be good to go.

Scotts has my business for the long haul.

Dropped my AR off at scotts, two weeks ago to have a spikes DynaComp pinned on, the gentleman i dropped the gun off to was very polite and helpful and answered all my questions without hesitation, aslo the older gentleman (larry i believe) was very nice and helped me as soon as i stepped foot in the door today for pickup, although engaged in conversation with another fellow. and although i just had a compensator pinned i can tell by the quality and craftsmanship of the job that chad and the crew at scotts will have my business as long as i own a firearm. and a personal thanks to chad for doing a fantastic job on my rifle.

    Thanks,
    Aaron Schwartz

Was too busy to post this back when I picked my rifle up. Then totally forgot.

I did however, have my kalash worked on by Chad. The bolt polish was well done and shiny. I can testify first hand it's as shiny as the picture he posted in the other thread, no photoshopping or anything. xDD.

Also, the front end cut down, rethreaded, and muzzle device installed and pinned. You honestly can't tell it didn't come that way from the factory. (I mean, aside from knowing nobody builds them like that).

The LH bolt is well done and the cut in the dust cover is actually smoother / better cut then the original cuts on the right hand side. Not to mention, Chad was kind enough to point out that I probably should want the scope mount rail shaved down and do it for me.

The safety fit works superbly. It's not a complete pita to move from safe to semi and back. And easy enough to do it with just the index as well.

10/10. 11/10 if I wanna do the cliche thing.
    Thanks so much Chad!

I really appreciate the compliments. If you ever need anything else done Im taking $100.00 off the bill since you waited longer than I quoted.

You should post pics, I never got a chance to photo her since I worked on her after hours.

It's really pretty. My other is crying for attention now and I might send off the Form 1 for it sometime soon.

A few weeks ago, I dropped off a new-to-me milled Mak90 that was a picky eater. Chad told me that he could care of that and a few other issues that I asked him to address.

I just got it back today and everything was done beautifully! Chad did an amazing shape/polish job on the feed ramp and cartridges seem to flow into the chamber. Can't wait to shoot her!

The ramp is mirror smooth, no burr marks of any kind.

Also, I owe you a retainer plate, I think. I'll drop that by Scott's.

Here's a pic from an earlier thread:

    Thanks Scott's, and thanks Chad!

As always, I received excellent service at Scott's. Chad has been helping me with a problem I had on my MAK and he took the time to look over the rifle. He and all the employees at Scott's offer great customer service!!!! Thanks again!

heres another +1 for chad. I had an Ar that ment alot to me and it was having alot of cycling issues and the entire thing needed to be looked through. Well since I now live in NC and have not found anyone ever close to the knowledge and skill that chad has. I will post pictures when I get home, but he did a great job and I will definatly use him again for anything I cannot do my self.

Just wanted to say thanks to Chad for taking a few brief moments to help me out with rail system/muzzle device selection on friday - even as busy as he is, he managed to find a few brief moments to give valuable input and help me make a decision.

The mans a gentleman and a scholar, and I truly appreciate the help!

I finally met Chad today in person. I brought in my new LRB build to get his blessing that I somewhat knew I was doing when I put the parts together and it won't explode after round #1. I also brought in my spikes AR and had him look at the "slop" between the upper and lower and inquired about a set screw. He told me he could do it but it would taking my money because the slop is from the front and not the rear and the Accu-wedge is doing a much better job than a set screw.

Chad I ordered the muzzle device this evening along with my Primary arms optics and Magpul MBIUS and forward assist. Hopeful the YHM Brake shows up quickly and I will drop it off.

great to finally meet you in person and I hope my build does make you facepalm. :D

Back when I was a novice, Chad helped me out a couple times. Amazing how 3 minutes of his time can save you hours of headache....

I wanted to thank the guys at Scott's for getting me started into the realm of the AR. Everybody was so helpful and patient with me and my newby questions. I always go to Scott's when I'm thinking about getting a new type of gun I'm not familiar with.

Big thanks to chad for putting the finishing touches on my latest build. I handed him a box of parts that I pulled together on a budget and the rifle turned out awesome. Thanks man!

I just wanted to (yet again) thank Chad for his assistance with my last build, his input and work was/is very appreciated.

Just for his own pleasure - I finally got around to testing the 60rnd SureFire mag in the 300BLK today, every round fed, fired, and ejected flawlessly - from 110gr V-max's to 220gr sub-sonics. The accuracy was definitely enjoyed as well, 105 yards isn't really a challenge anymore.

So for those that have had the pleasure of getting something worked on by him, enjoy..., and for those that haven't - time's drawing near, the man does great work!!

since we are thanking chad, I'm going to throw mine in there too since I was unable to when I picked up my rife. I dropped off a rifle off a few months ago that was popping primers that was a personal/patrol rifle. Needless to say Chad "squared-it-away". Thanks Chad, you may never know how much people appreciate your hard work and see how much you care about the work you do.

thank god for Chad and Scott's!!! I had an AR build that went wrong from the get go. Finally I had to take it in to Scott's and after some work, Chad had it fully assembled and running smoothly in a little over an hour. While I waited I got to hang around and talk shop with the people coming in. Scott's is an absolutely fantastic little shop!
