ATF Seize Airsoft Guns Claiming They Can Be Converted

I remember back when this happened. There was a bit of a stink made over it. They claimed the metal lowers of the airsoft rifles were machined the same as real AR lowers and could be used to build a real AR. I'd like to meet the man dumb enough to build and fire a rifle using a pot metal airsoft lower.

olympic arms used to make an airsoft version of the m16 that all you needed to do is change out the barrel, receiver, and something else i forget and you got an actual firearm. i had one but i sold it about a year ago

MACHINE GUNS? I'm pretty sure that full-auto M4's are still only Assault Rifles, Machine Guns are nearly impossible to get, right? Aside from post- or pre- dealer stuff. Maybe that ATF agent should study up on his area of expertise.

With the proper parts a standard AR15 with a Low Shelf Lower Receiver can be made into a Illegal Machinegun in about 2 Mins. Getting it timed properly is a whole other ball of wax.

One of Gas Airsoft M4's I have examined had a functioning Auto Sear/FCG just like the real thing.

Some of these airsoft guns are pretty much exact copies of AR-15s, just with the reciever pins 2mm too short/long so they won't fit a real upper. In my opinion, that's playing with fire.
