Zastava M77 AK47 .308 Rifle

Zastava Arms USA has just launched their new AK .308 rifle .These are imported from Serbia and the big brother to the popular Zastava M70 AK-47 rifles chambered in 762x39. The Zastava M77 has a 1.5 mm thick receiver with a bulged trunnion, 19.7 inch hammer forged barrel and uses metal 10 & 20 round Zastava 308 magazines. You can dial the rifle in with the adjustable gas system to limit recoil and increase accuracy. The rifles currently ship with a 20 round mag and we are expecting extra 10 & 20 round mags to arrive very soon.

I hope they are better than the previous version. I had one of the earlier ones, when they were $599 and had the thumbhole stock. It had some rough machine marks, the carrier would get hung up on the hammer when hand cycling, stories of soft metal and peening of the carrier tail and bolt surfaces. I liked the gun, even at 600, but didn't love it. I traded it for a Vepr, which was 100% nicer. Vepr didn't have the gas valve, but didn't need it. I did get some Csspec mags which are very nice, although a tad pricey. The stock 10rd mag worked but didn't seem as robust. I hope for 1400 these are vastly improved. I hope they finally have chromed bore. I'd buy an AR10 for that kind of coin, but I hope they did refine it. It's kinda the main 308 AK now that Veprs and Saigas are banned. Not sure how popular the Galil Ace is, but it HAD to be nicer than my M77.
