Aww, c'mon guys. The Gas Tax got railroaded through this year. The Second Amendment didn't have a chance. Most of us knew this in our gut. But we had to fight - and have to keep fighting - because there isn't any other option.

And fight dirty? Fine, fight dirty. You still won't beat the Maryland Dem political machine and the general public will dispise us. Think it's bad now? It can get a whole lot worse - remember the 90s when anyone who owned an AR was presumed to be a terrorist and guns being gone forever was a serious possibility? Think about that before you start slinging mud.

seems like we are doing everything he asks for in that article

except for this from the article linked in the original post:
"Our plan: get right in their face. We will protest at their places of business. At public events where they speak. We will find these anti-gun politicians and gather in front of them and make our voices heard. Outside of their comfort zone. In front of the press and their colleagues and supporters.......

    ......

Then email your name and phone number (for text alerts) to the Citizen’s Rights Action League (cralri@cralri.com). We will assemble the names for our “flash mob” alerts.
Get ready to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Rhode Island gun owners will stand and fight. That will be seen and heard. Because that’s the only thing Rhode Island politicians respect. Your gun rights depend on this. Thank you."

To me this is organized protest marches, with signs, sit ins, going to a targeted business or organizations offices and being visible. To me, the real challenge we will have with this activity will be to control the more rambunctious of us to be polite, and to identify the fifth columnists that will surely show up to make us look bad.

I am not sure about the DINO thing but I'll leave that alone for now.

I agree with the voter registration. In a couple weeks I will be on an evening work schedule and hope to get trained to register voters.

One question here though, who said we had 40% of the people who testified were not registered, and do we trust that source?

Hope you will join in the project to make registration available at gun shops and ranges at least once a month.

I have heard various numbers thrown about, ranging from 25% to 40%. That seemed pretty high to me and I don't put a lot of faith in the accuracy but even 5% is too many people sitting on the sidelines with no voice.

Fighting back against anti-gun politicians with one-issue signs, protests, phone call and email campaigns, etc. is a complete waste of time. That's what these politicians want us to do so we can be painted as extremists. It's a strategy that only rings true and hits home within our own like-minded minority. If the goal is to unseat anti-gun incumbents, then the strategy proven to work time and time again is to simply make up bad stuff about the incumbent and to loudly repeat it over and over again. Take things the incumbent has done and spin them into unflattering and/or offensive tall tales. Don't do it about guns. Do it for anything and everything else in order to catch the attention of as many people outside the gun community as possible. Low information voters will never bother to verify accuracy. They will assume it's true. It's the same game that leftist incumbents have been playing for many years. It's time to play the game in reverse. Make it a personal crusade to spread disinformation and lies about anti-gun incumbents. Post it everywhere in online forums and news/blog comments. Tell every like-minded person you know to do the same. Let's make propaganda work in our favor.

I agree with your assessment of the situation. This is going to be a long, hard fight. We can't count on any support from the media in this region or nationally to get our side of the story out. We are going to have to do this in person, either individually or by making sure our voices are heard at town halls and forums across the state.

There is a good opportunity to carry the fight into the enemy camp coming up on Monday, April 15. Goucher College is having a forum, "Reform v. Rights: Guns in America," where David Keene, president of the NRA will be squaring off against 3 gun grabbers. I'm sure they are anticipating an evening of gloating over the passage of SB 281 and the progress of their agenda in Congress. I hope a few off us can be there to piss in the punchbowl.

Just an FYI - this has BEEN a very long fight - at least 25 years that I know of.

The current strategy has allowed us to go from basically only a 7 day wait on handgun purchases from dealers to what we have now and more upcoming on Oct 1st.

Time for a change of strategy don't you think?

Good point. We need to form an organization that is not associated with anything but slinging shiite at politicians that want to infringe on other's rights.

By all means do extensive opposition research. By all means seek their defeat by using any and all issues.

But directly cursing and spitting at them will work even worse than being sane and polite in person.

We have been cursed with such absolute socialist, statist, progressive utopian idiots in the General Assembly and other state offices that there is no need to dig up or manufacture anything.

    SB 281
    Gas tax
    Rain tax
    Driver license for illegals
    Offshore wind scheme

The plain simple truth about how they are ruining Maryland gives us plenty of ammo to fill enough "high capacity magazine clips for revolvers" to kick the bums out.

That goes back to the notion of an armed society being a polite society. When you have the ability to do each other damage when provoked, you respecy each other more. That's just human nature. That's also why we're still here after the Soviet Union. The Russkies then may not have liked us, but being just as well armed as they were they sure respected us.

When it comes to door knocking and other attempts at persuasion to get votes away from the gun grabbers, we can focus on other unpopular issues that they supported. Frankly, 2A rights and self defense just don't resonate with a good amount of people. The gas tax, wind farm, mandatory bicycle helmets etc... will affect more people and they might be persuaded on that. Either way, if we can steer votes away from the gun grabber to another candidate, hopefully a 2A supporter, it will help our agenda.

We need to find every ass raping tax they supported and use that along with twisting some anti-2A facts. Example, "Did you know Frank Turner supports taking your property without due process or just compensation?"

Talk about stringing deleted expletives together ...

I think a lot of people misunderstood what aggressive means. People bitched we weren't being aggressive enough.

A lot of people felt aggressive meant saying

"**** you you ****ing ass little pansy ass socialist bastard take my gun and i'll ****ing put you in a ****ing body bag bitch. Go take your nazi shit and **** yourself back to Hitler."

"If any of you need any last minute gift ideas for me, I have one ... I'd like Martin Owe'Malley, our governor brought right here. I want him awakened from his progressive socialist stupor in the governor's mansion in Annapolis, where he's been fantasizing about being elected POTUS in 2016. I want him brought right here to MDShooters wearing that big smarmy grin of his, where we're all gonna' look him straight in the eye, and tell him what a ..."

    (continued with gprimr1's comment above)

Is that aggressive enough ? ;)
