Hey everyone !!! Please remember that these law suites are not free nor cheap. If you haven't done so recently please donate to the Second Ammendment Foundation. They are the ones doing all the sueing and they need our money to help.

If my calculations and memory are correct (IANAL) - 4 more days until the deadline for a cert request in Woollard.

Any of our court watchers have any thoughts on whether the ISRA filing in Moore will affect the timing for Gura filing for cert? Will Gura have to ask for an extension to file and, if so, what is the likelihood of SCOTUS granting the extension?

If he wants an extension, doesn't he have to ask soon? I don't know anything about how this stuff works, but the way courts take so long to reply to things, he can't really wait til the last day to ask for an extension, can he?

    Normally done that way.

Why turn in the homework early, when you can take the time to review and finalize the document?

Gura will file on time, if he files at all. Extensions have to be requested at least 10 days before the due date.

Hopefully, Gura is frantically adding the CO case labelling "outside the home is part of the fundmental 2A right" ruling into the appeal. :fingerscrossed:

I just received a membership package from SAF after upgrading to life member. The list of court actions listed Woollard having requested cert. I'd look for it to happen for sure.

That's from the same circuit that ruled against Gray Peterson right?

These damned courts make no friggin' sense any more. It's all a shell game.

You have to understand decisions/opinions are written by people.

We hope that the judge would put their notions aside on how they are about the subject (so they can decide objectively), but we all know there will be some level of bias. The bias comes through in their opinions.

    Opinions are like @$$holes.

Sorry, I'm just grumpy lately, and I now realize that this is mediocre at best, since it is from a District Court. Nice to see other District Courts sticking their necks out though.

I've always said opinions are like d**ks. A lot of people have them and that's totally okay. But you can't go around shoving them down people's throats and expect them to be okay with it.

    Link?

Center Maryland (a news service) is reporting that the Daily Record (another news service) reports there is a petition for cert to the U. S. Supreme Court re "good and substantial." I have not found the petition. Assuming this is an accurate report, can someone find and post a link to the petition?

    Thanks
