If he wants an extension, doesn't he have to ask soon? I don't know anything about how this stuff works, but the way courts take so long to reply to things, he can't really wait til the last day to ask for an extension, can he?
If my calculations and memory are correct (IANAL) - 4 more days until the deadline for a cert request in Woollard.
Any of our court watchers have any thoughts on whether the ISRA filing in Moore will affect the timing for Gura filing for cert? Will Gura have to ask for an extension to file and, if so, what is the likelihood of SCOTUS granting the extension?
Gura will file on time, if he files at all. Extensions have to be requested at least 10 days before the due date.
Do you think he will file, based on the IL decisions?
He pretty much has to. We've gotta get a case to them before it's too late, before we get another Sotomayor or worse.Do you think he will file, based on the IL decisions?

That's from the same circuit that ruled against Gray Peterson right?Hopefully, Gura is frantically adding the CO case labelling "outside the home is part of the fundmental 2A right" ruling into the appeal.![]()

These damned courts make no friggin' sense any more. It's all a shell game.
Opinions are like @$$holes.You have to understand decisions/opinions are written by people.
We hope that the judge would put their notions aside on how they are about the subject (so they can decide objectively), but we all know there will be some level of bias. The bias comes through in their opinions.
