Nice! I'd like to catch some snakeheads. Any advice of where to go around western Baltimore County? Any bait/tackle recommendations?
Im not sure of any places in Western Baltimore County. They are in brackish bodies of water like Patapsco, Bush, Gunpowder, Dundee, Seneca, and also even back river and creeks all off of Patapsco on the eastern side. I live on Bear creek and they are all in there. Right now near shorelines and weeds and brush up close. Another good place is take a ride to Conowingo Dam pool. Park and go down to water. Ii use all artificial lures and mostly soft plastics like 4" twister tails on large jig heads. Also shad bodies. Another is Chatterbaits and surface lures too. I have used fresh fillets from white perch and caught them. Im not sure if you are fishing from shore. If a boat then you have more areas and access. Also eastern shore like Blackwater. I use 30lb. Braided line and a good rod. Always have a landing net

I don't know why my baitcaster is the first thing I reach for... Maybe I'm a glutton for punishment.

When worse comes to worst, tie the running end of the line to a tree or something solid, back up to remove the slack and crank on the reel. Most of the time, it will overcome the bird's nest and you'll be back in business.

Make sure your cast control is properly set before casting.

Daughter caught a nice one tonight. She was using a big purple twister Texas rig. Gave her a good show jumping and fight. She was happy which made me very happy.

Ocean City bike week is often a good time to fish with so many people staying away other than bikers and its a week day. Been coming here during bike week long before I got into riding again.
Today, I got my first keeper flounder of the year, but I have only targeted flounder on 3 trips with 4 undersized on the boat 2 weeks ago for the 2nd attempt. I suck at the bay but today the squirrel got a nut.

Yes it has been good, dinner again tonight... (sorry about the bloody pic, didn't get any pics while catching and we bleed and ice brine the fish as we catch them).
