    This looks pretty cool.

    LOL,,
Gotta love the "Micro Skiff guys",, and their "Kayak Killers"
$3500 for the stripped hull that weighs 175#,, rig it out and you are at 300+ pounds
By the time you rig it, motor, trailer, etc,, You will be over $6000.00 for a basic set up.

My Jackson kayaks cost me $500-1200 and I can throw 3-4 of them in the back of my truck 70-80# each, No one is picking up a 200# skiff and "roof topping" it.
White Water rivers for small mouth in WV and crabbing in the bay, we camp out of them for 2-3 days.

Oldest Son flew in for 4 days this week to visit the wife and I ,, and wanted to do an overnight on the river like the old days.
All our usual rivers in WV and VA are WAY low,, So we tried a new section of the North Fork that is dam release. It was me and my 2 sons, Cumberland to Old Town, Sat-Sun
Caught a good number of Smallies and cooked Scrapple, Eggs and potatoes over the fire.

I agree. I have an Ocean Kayak and a Vibe that are easy to throw in the pickup even for an old guy like me. I can throw on the trolling motors if I want to go in the bay or ocean or just use the paddles for small lakes and streams. No trailer needed and they store on the ceiling of my garage.

I enjoy fishing with friends and family to much to invest that much money for a solo skiff. At least with yaks you can get a couple for that price. Right now when I’m not on the bass boat, I’m fishing an old John boat that was abandoned in my yard when I got the house. I slapped a used trolling motor on it for 400$ and 300$ worth of batteries. Now I can fish 3 pretty comfortably at Piney and can cover the whole lake pretty easily. I know Piney so well I don’t even have a depth finder on it. I’d much rather fish on that than a micro skiff.

Yeah, it is a rare occasion that I fish alone. Once in a while I will solo launch my kayak just before sunrise on the PAX or bay, and fish a few hours as the sun comes up. Only because my wife is not a morning person.
We are crabbing this sat and fishing Sun on the kayaks. We typ go out 1-2 times a week.
When we had the 17' center console Mako, we were lucky to get out 2 times in the summer.

I had my father and son out today on Piney again. The bite was steady early and then slowly tapered off, but we did finish with 11 and had a couple of decent fish.

Fished the Severn River today. It was a slow day for some reason. I really thought it was going to be better. High to outgoing tide with light winds. Very sunny and hotter than called for. I managed 2 Rockfish (18" and 20"). About 20 white perch with one being 13".

Sadly not me but my big brother went out on a charter yesterday and ended up winning the fishing pool with this big amberjack and because he fishes almost every weekend, he gives away most of his catch. I've sharpened my knife and am about to filet this puppy for my MIL. I think I'll grill a piece for mrsbigjoe, The Gooch & myself to try as well

Got put into the Ocean Labor Day. Rollers in the morning but manageable. Really flattened out around noon. Pulled all the small Mahi from one pot a boat exited right as we were arriving. My son and I have gotten seasoned at the Mahi. If we see one, we can get it with all our bags of tricks. He got the big one with the lightest rod we had at a pot 28 miles out. Pots were hit hard Monday so we did not continue searching and changed to sea bass Was a fun fight for him on the larger Mahi.
We were rocking on sea bass for only 20 mins then flies arrived on the west winds 20 miles out. Bait was on the bottom maybe 10 seconds before they were hit. We had more than enough fish for me to clean so we headed home at 1:00.
I use a GPS trolling motor so when I find the sea bass on the sonar we stick to that spot unless it dies out.
New angler guest on the boat so happy we put him on fish.
The Mahi look small but they have good meat on them and clean really easy for me

Friendship Landing. Mixed up some dough bait hoping to find some .massive carp. Ended with this one
, the net is 17 inches across...quite the pullage. Had a few small catfish and the spot, which I've never caught. Had ask an older gentleman that was keeping me company what it was. The colors were amazing. I'm just looking for the fight, and hoping to hook into a monster carp down there. Lots of relaxing fun. Once the tide was in a d the water stopped, so did the bite. That one carp left such a stink on the net, if filled my garage when I got back. Had to rinse and febreezed it, since the wife came out there to grab the laundry and I caught an earful about the smell...LOL...

I sat up all night hitting refresh,, waiting on the report :)
Well here it is - We got to the ramp at about 6:30am and we sat for about 30minutes until the rain let up. The tide was high. We spent about 30minutes trying to find some grass. My very first cast got a giant blowup on a topwater frog but didn't catch it. We continued fishing a long stretch of grass and shoreline without any action at all. We tried several different baits. We finally move out to another spot looking for more grass but didn't find any so we started fishing wood/piers. I pretty big catfish smashed my spinnerbait but it was fun catching it. The trip came to a quick ending when I pulled something in my back and it was to painful to continue fishing. I got home yesterday and spend the rest of the day laying on a heating pad. Not much of a fish catching report. I really expected a better bite. It seemed like the conditions were perfect.

Did a little fishing in Gunpowder and Bush last night before dark. Fished a few mouths of marshes at full running tide. Thousands of 3-4" Alewives being devoured by perch and pan rock. Had a ball on ultra light spinning gear. Then a big one and was a red drum that broke my line trying to haul it onto the bank. Then I caught another smaller red drum. Amazing they are up in this brackish water. Took a quick pic before throwing it back

    Just an FYI
I pulled something in my back years ago. I layed on a heating pad and the next day the pain was so bad I had it checked out. The Doc told me the worst thing you can do with a new injury is give it heat. You are supposed to ice it the first day, alternate heat and ice the second day and heat on the third day. I have had great results doing just that.
