I am more of a sunset person. I always have a hard time getting up when it is still dark out. Doesn't seem natural to me. That said I do my fare share of early morning fishing trips and love them.

Not a hunter(not that there's anything wrong with that...)?

When I went to church more regularly, the church always had a sunrise service on Easter Sunday. I stopped going to that service. The preacher asked why I quit coming to sunrise service. I asked her how many sunrises did see a year? She answered once, Easter Sunday. I told her I see the sunrise every day, so the Lord was fine with me sleeping in that day. She never brought that subject up to me ever again. Lol

Hunting isn't my thing. I am ok with someone that does I just don't like the idea of killing animals. Now I do love shooting at the outdoor ranges but my target are steel. lol.
Not at all. It's just that most hunters begin their day watching and enjoying the sunrise.

I actually love being on the road and watching the sunrise. It is a little different experience, as you aren't necessarily fixated on the sunrise itself, but more so, the dawn of a new day and where your journey will leave you. Anticipation of what's to come.

I wish I was a morning person. My wife is. I think my internal clock is set differently. lol

I wake up by 5:00 no matter the day,, I love the feeling of a new day, and in the morning I have energy.
I know the evening sit is more productive while deer hunting,, But I greatly prefer the AM hunt. The sun is ushering in a whole new day, and so many possibilities. The evening hunt is a count down to the end.

I left home (MD) at 17,, threw everything in my 70 AMX and hit the road, had no idea where I was going,, but loved seeing what was around the next bend,, Ended up in Bryan TX. same feeling I get when I float a new river in the mountains.

I love everything about hunting but the kill. I won’t shoot anything without a purpose, be it eating or a nuisance animal. I’ll eat almost anything.

Probably belongs in the "What made you smile today?" thread.
A few weeks ago, the grandkids(12, 9, and 8) asked if I would take them fishing... yesterday I made that happen.

Freaking love this! I’m actually about to run to the store and grab worms. My son said he wanted to go fishing today!

I'm still beaming... there's a backstory to this adventure.
10 years ago, the boat went up on the hard after the divorce. Lost interest. One day, the kids asked if I would take them fishing and that gave me the incentive to breathe life back into the ol' gal. Got it back in the water, blew the dust of her, and fixed a few things that needed corrected before we wondered out. [[[[(SQUIRREL) A few years ago, a friend in Florida gave me a SeaDoo jet boat. I brought it home and gave it to the grandkids. Mom and Dad were none too pleased with Pop-Pop.]]]] Finally, time to go fishing and the kids were under the impression we were going out on the jet boat. Imagine their surprise when they saw the "big" boat. "Who's boat is this...?" they asked. It's my boat, I said... well, until I pass... then it becomes your father's boat. I didn't tell them about the boat because I realized they knew nothing about it... it had never come up in conversation, nor had they seen pictures. Number 1 was 2 years old and 2 and 3 were yet to be born when boat went dormant. What a great day... a double whammy for me.

Just got back from another morning at Piney. This time with my stepson, and while it was slower than the past few trips we ended up boating 8 LMb’s with the biggest going around 4#s.
