An old Marine buddy of mine was unaware of the AR panic until I mentioned it to him. He is thinking of selling his Rock River Hbar, with this crazy frenzy would he make more money as a whole rifle or parting it out? It looks like an M16A2, fixed carry handle and stock but has a match trigger.

Sure people can make profit on their AR's today but if it were me, I would endeavor to see that a competition grade service rifle went to someone who would use it for that disipline of shooting sports. There are surely those who would like to get into the sport that are not because of current high prices. Perhaps a junior whose parents are not able to buy one at current prices would like to be able to afford one for their son or daughter. That is something I would consider if I were selling. The more people we can bring into the shooting sports, the stronger our position will be in the future. Just my opinion and something your friend may want to consider.

I'd sell her like a Vestal Virgin in a Bangkok bar for as much as I could get on Gun Broker.

It's a RRA; not exactly over the top unusual or high build quality.

Your friend will be needing that rifle soon enough.

I wouldn't part with my service weapon if I were him.
