    I'm looking at the following:

    Marlin Camp Carbine .45

    Marlin 1894 .357

    Mini 14

I like each, but don't need any of them for HD. Would be mostly range, my enjoyment.

All are in very good condition, but can only afford one now.

Assuming they are priced reasonably, which would you choose?

    Thanks for you thoughts.

The Mini-14 is the most likely to be subject to any new ban. I would get it and mags while you can.

The Camp Carbine is a nice gun, but still not much cheaper to shoot than the Ruger and harder to get parts and mags for.

The 1894 is a classic, but unlikely to face any ownership challenges. Try to find an older one before they were bought by Freedom Group.

How is getting mags for a Marlin Camp Carbine 45 difficult?

They use 1911 mags. The mags are as common as flies, and you still can find them, especially if you already own a 1911.

Now the gun itself is harder to find. Marlin has not made Camp Carbines for awhile.

You are indeed correct and I stand better educated.

I looked at one in 9mm last year and walked away because of the price (and the mags). They seem like such a great idea, just like Ruger's various .44 carbines. I'm not sure why they don't hit it off that well.
