Isn’t that the basic idea behind what AAF&G did (does) on their rifle range?

I‘d be curious to hear if it really works …

I’m assuming it does as it placated the judge in that saga of a 80’s lawsuit against AAF&G by quite the scheming neighbor (who I understand promptly moved the E. Shore after successfully putting AAF&G through the ringer, financially and otherwise …)

Perfect deer blind for keeping neighbors too close out of the know.

Would like to see the construction details. Looks like a spiral tube with a lid and hole in it. Does it have baffles?

I think you have the wrong range there. AAF&G doesn't have anything like that.

Does that actually cut down the sound when one shoots?

It would be nice to do that, in addition to burying it all with a 40' container. I've always had the ridiculous idea to build an underground shooting range if I ever get the pleasure of owning my own land.

    From the outside, yes.

Inside, you need to triple up your hearing protection. You even get to feel the concussive pressure on your face from the shot.

When I had my gunsmithing business I used a 25 yard sewer pipe buried in the yard and opening in the basement. It kept the noise down outside but it really threw it back in your face.

Fake news,, disinformation, never heard of such,,

12th precinct has tires set up outside a little shak like that for shotgun sighting in.

Probably Stoney Creek, although I think theirs is more or less to help keep rounds from leaving the range.
Well the concept is similar but the "tunnels" are enclosed within the structure and have steel eyebrows to deflect an errant shot. The tunnels are also sound insulated and have fans to suck out smoke.
