What is the snow forecast for the weekend?

I am finally taking the kid to go skiing in Canaan Valley this weekend. Will be there Sunday night through Tuesday. Any chance of getting a good snow storm? I hear they got enough for us to learn to ski, but not much more.

I am looking forward to spending a couple days in America!

Snow is supposed to be done Saturday night...

That being said roads will still be a mess Sunday.

They're calling for 18-24" or more in the mountains here from Elkins to Davis, so should be some good new snow.

You know the new road is open all the way from VA line to Davis right?

Whatever we get is what we get. I stopped paying attention to weather reports years ago. When they say we're getting a bunch, it's almost always nothing and when they say nothing, we get dumped on. I wish I could get a job where I can be constantly in error yet still get paid!

12"-24". I have beer, TV, a snow plow and a big dog that likes to ride in the truck. Bring it on were ready!

True, it's like less than 30 mins from Strasburg exit on 81 for 55/48 to Wardensville.

And the new road is gorgeous.

Just remember to gas up in Moorefield if you need it, at night or in bad weather it is probably the last place that will be open until Elkins.

We had a great time at Whitegrass. It was our first XC skiing and the kid was very happy. Beautiful weekend and hope to get back out to Canaan Valley soon!

We've gone to Timberline numerous times and loved it. The one time it was snowing as we arrived Friday evening and did not stop snowing until Sunday. Over 2 feet of fresh powder. It was amazing! Made it back OK also. Always a plus.

The tubing at Canaan is hilarious too, they have a rope lift.

I drove down to Snowshoe last night. Here saying 5-8" today, another 5-8" tonight, and I think 3-5" on Sat. We'll see!

We went to Canaan Valley again last weekend. It was good skiing Saturday morning, but then it got too warm. The place was packed and they had something going on with little kids skiing. Sunday we hit the sled run at Blackwater Falls. It really was too warm, in the 50s. All the snow will be gone if it keeps like this. Is Feb going to be a snowy month?

Was last year, the long range forecast I saw is calling for cold enough to make snow plus some more natural.
