What feels like the official lever action cartridge?

44-40 was the original.

As referenced before 45LC was a popular movie round. Curious, as some writers reference "44's" but the TV/Hollowood did not always follow the writings.

Considering what I have in 45LC Colt SAA's, a 45LC lever rifle makes sense for what I have. They pop up here and there for sale but...

Winchester 94 30-30 is nice.
Marlin 336 30-30 is nicer.

Growing up through the sixties 30-30 lever was the gun everyone had. If you’re shooting a rifle cartridge 92s and 94s are fine but for pistol cartridges Id go 73.
