I hope this is the corre t forum to post this question.

Although I own several firearms, I’ve never purchased one in MD. I’d like to know what I need to bring with me to my LGS to buy/pickup a hand gun. I have my HQL and my 77R, and also my W&C permit. Is there anything else I need in order to purchase the handgun?

If you've already got your HQL and have done your E77R (and have the application # and PIN), then all you need is payment, state ID, and a 7 day wait.

I haven't bought a handgun since 2013. I only just got my HQL along with my HGP.

I see the process has gone online, O Brave New World!

Does this mean I can submit a 77r online and wait my seven days before I even set foot in a store, and thus buy and take home a handgun the same day I first fondle it in the store?

Thus saving making two separate trips to the dealer?

No- clock doesn’t start until the dealer does their step to initiate with the PIN you provide them.

Prepare your 77r before you go to your dealer. It’ll save time and endear you to them.

In Maryland, they think you will pre-fill out the form and then wait for a day when someone pisses you off and then go get a gun.

"Yeah, but I don't want to waste one of my nice guns to cap that jerk.

I'll just swing by the ol' Merchant of Death and pick up a Hi Point."

    See? Not so stupid.
