Yesterday I turned some corrosive surplus Chinese X 39 into non corrosive X39. I weigh the charges which makes a big difference. Its' accurate ammo.

What in the Canuck Bushcraft wizardry are you talking about? I'm seriously falling for your whole snowneck schtick and would love to have more details.

No wizardry. I started doing this years ago to make cheap .303 ammo. .303 is expensive, but surplus 7.62x54r is not. It just so happens that 7.62 x 54r bullets are the same diameter as .303 " , both are actually .311 . I separate the components and load them in .303 cases with commercial primers. The powder appears to perform the same as BL-2, and I have quite a bit left over which I use in .308 etc. Carefully work up your loads and check the primers for excess pressure signs.

Check ITAR regulations on spent brass. I have hundreds of factory .303 Brit brass I no longer have a use for. I used Speer Hot Cor .311 150gr projectiles.

They have purpose built bullet pullers, i.e. rcbs collet puller, or the hornady one that would do the job more efficiently. A closely fitted steel pipe that fits along bullet as a leverage bar, and bending the neck back and forth until the bullet comes loose also works if you want something more finesse than a hammer/mallet.

    .460 S&W testing continues.

300 grain Lyman #2 mix. 13 grains of Unique.

The .460 is so versatile. Even works as a stand-in when you can find your steaming rack. Homemade pastrami be good.

Gauged out the rest of my 9mm cartridges (~700) and put them into boxes. Also did a small run of 9mm with Win SPMP. In theory, Win SPMP is the same hardness as Win SPP, so other than my rounds being slightly more spicy, it shouldn't make much of a difference. After suffering through stiff primer inserts with Ginex, Winchester primers feel almost miraculously easy to insert. I have about 5k of them, so barring any discoveries with ignition issues, I'll probably be using them for a while.

I did have an interesting problem where my 650 got very squeaky with a lot of friction. Some 10W30 on the mainshaft cleared that up - I guess these things do need maintenance once in a while.

I have some 45 to pull, so that will probably be my next project. After that, some more 45 loads and maybe a run of 223 or 300 again. I really should load some more 7.62x39, but I don't have a toolhead or conversion for that right now.

Today I refrained from buying a rubber mallet and beating down milsurp bullets on a vice.

I did finish prepping 400 6.5cm cases and primed 200 of them for loading to my Superformance spec load soon.

My private range construction has stalled at 800yds for now so I’m letting the 338Lapua sit and pulled out the 6.5 for plinking

 I own both, but have always refrained... prefer the bullet puller method, either collet or other..

Coated the casts from last week, ready to size and load into 300subs.

    .460, again. At 100 yards.

Hornady 200 FTX. 49 grains of H335. 1,750fps. A very respectable but not punishing Bambi round. 1,360 foot pounds.

These bullets are expensive at .74 cents each. But they work extremely well. Very flat shooting.

Got around to loading up the low cal 300BO with the 225gr Tacos. Dillon was already setup for loading, fill the hooper with 1680, fine tune the powder drop, 15 mins later we are done, about 150rds... Love me progressive!

Not bad for old scrap wheel weights... ;)

I need to screw up the courage to try powder coating on my 300 grain .460 bullets. Tired of leading.

But have no idea how to powder coat a bullet and use a copper gas check at the same time.

Bullets need to be lubed in order to size and install a gas check, but powder won't stick to the lubed bullet.

Plenty of threads here on shake and bake powder coating and adding gas checks after coating. Coating is the lube in powder coating, no need for additional lube
