VLTOR AR-15 Lower Initial Impressions

I just ordered an VLTOR AR-15 semi-complete lower from Engage and they graciously allowed me to snap some photos and throw on my MOE-K grip.

I definitely have a kind of a hard-on for VLTOR products and I was glad to find out that Engage is a direct VLTOR dealer. The lower is essentially the same as the lower found on the VLTOR TS3 Carbine (major difference is that the TS3 comes with the A5 recoil system while these lowers come with a standard VLTOR receiver extension). It is complete with the big-ass magazine release (that is the technical designation that I have just invented) and the 3 position QD endplate. I brought in one of my AR15 uppers to try fitting it and the upper-lower fit with these lowers is quite tight.

I'm still waiting on an VLTOR IMOD stock and I'm about to build a super-VLTOR fanboy upper. More to come.

Nope, and I'm fairly certain that the lower has been somewhat modified to accommodate the end plate.

The STS is on another lower currently. I'll probably get another STS for this one.
