5. Help needed, VCDL table at Newport News Fall Festival, 10/1-10/2
VCDL is working on expanding our contact with the public. Part of that is "Other-Than-Gun-Show" events, where we're not preaching to the choir. These events are fun, and give us the opportunity to talk to people who may never go to gun shows.
Help is needed at our booth at the 47th Annual Newport News Fall Festival. This event attracts 35,000 visitors each year and features exhibitors showcasing arts, crafts, heritage trade demonstrations, entertainment, children's activities and food.
This is an opportunity to speak with many in the community we may not otherwise reach prior to the upcoming elections. Our main goal will be conversations, handing out VCDL literature, GSL stickers, and encouraging sign ups to the VCDL mailing list. We will not be seling VCDL gear or memberships at this event, it's all about getting the word out!
To volunteer, contact Bryan Dunn at gunshows.hampton@vcdl.org

We've known all along that gun control is racist. Now the main stream media is catching on. The Wall Street Journal recently published an article, "Firing Back At Jim Crow, A new study shows how guns helped blacks against lynch mobs." Member John F. sent the link, and a PDF for those who want to bypass the WSJ paywall.
