1. New VCDL ad denouncing the release of violent criminals on our streets
While Terry McAuliffe, Mark Herring, Hala Ayala, and their parole board are setting violent criminals loose in our communities, those same politicians are trying to disarm us!
Just say, “No!”

2. Dominion Energy – proof that you didn’t know? How about balancing the scales?
There are two things Dominion Energy needs to do to fix the mess they created by giving $200,000 to a fake gun-rights group (Accountability Virginia PAC) whose mission was to discourage gun owners from voting for Glen Youngkin:
1. Release all associated documentation to show that it was actually an innocent mistake and not an intentional action on the part of Dominion Energy’s leadership
2. Make a matching $200,000 donation to the VCDL-PAC so the VCDL-PAC can get out ads countering the Accountability Virginia PAC ads

5. CHP holder shoots robber in Virginia Beach
A robber brought a knife to a gun fight with a CHP holder. Well, you can guess how that worked out for the bad guy. The CHP holder, once he was satisfied that the bad guy was down and while waiting for the police to arrive, put his gun back in his vehicle – good move! It’s best to not be holding a firearm when the police arrive if it can be avoided.
Person shot on Ferrell Parkway in Virginia Beach, shooter stayed on scene, police say | WAVY.com
6. CHP holder shoots at robbers in Fredericksburg – important lesson in this one
An elderly CHP-holder who was being robbed by a thug who was beating him. The CHP holder fired a couple of shots at the thug, ending the attack (deadly force can be used to protect yourself if there is a dangerous disparity of force that could kill you or cause you grievous bodily injury).
A key lesson in this case is for you to call the police ASAP if you have to use or brandish a gun. That’s to prevent the criminal from calling the police first and playing victim. That’s exactly what happened in this case, but the police didn’t fall for it as the real victim had already contacted them.

7. CHP holder in Pennsylvania stops a mall shooting
The gun-controllers love to lie about CHP holders not stopping crime, but it happens all the time. Then we hear, “How will the police identify the good guy?” Here’s a mall shooting that was stopped by a CHP holder. The police identified the good guy, no problem. The key is to remain calm and follow the directions from the police. There is some video of the event in this article, too:

8. VCDL/GOA bump stock arguments heard in 6th Circuit
The VCDL/GOA bump stock ban lawsuit was heard in the full U.S. 6th Circuit Court yesterday. The judges asked some tough questions, often firing their questions off before attorneys could finish answering the previous questions. Rob Olson did a great job in representing our side. The government lawyer was not nearly as well versed on guns.
Now we wait an indefinite amount of time for the Court to make their ruling.

9. Black member of “The View” sees the light on guns and buys one
A black, liberal, member of The View shocked the audience by telling them she had bought a gun to protect herself and her son. She bought the gun from a dealer and got training and said she now feels so empowered. And she was comfortable with her decision and unapologetic to the horrified audience.
I am proud of Sherri Shepherd for doing what’s right for her and her family and not looking back. I’m sure that many of the “shocked” audience members were secretly envious.

10. Virginia lawyer stops gun buy-up in the City of Franklin with one letter!
The City of Franklin was all set to have a gun buy-up (it is NOT a buyback as the City never sold guns to anyone). They even had a date picked: November 6.
Along comes lawyer Fred Taylor, who requests to see the enabling ordinance that Franklin had to have passed by law (15.2-915.5) to enable the buy-up.
Oooopsy. Franklin had no such ordinance and has canceled the event! Yay!
Franklin will have to schedule a public hearing on the ordinance, once the ordinance is written. And that means that Franklin gun-owners will have a chance to put the kibosh on this waste of time and money.
If you live in Franklin, keep an eye out for that public hearing and keep me posted.
11. Number of Virginia CHP holders continues to rise – latest numbers from VSP
Virginia CHPs are up! We now have 719,524 resident permits, 53,291 non-resident permits, and a total of 772,815 permits. That is more than three-quarters of one million people! And even that large number is a fraction of the number of gun owners in the state.
Many thanks to Michael Matthews and Marie Lucas with the Virginia State Police (VSP) for their quick and professional response to my inquiry.
12. A look at murders and guns – solidifies what we’ve been saying all along
The data backs what VCDL has been saying for years: most of the murders committed through the misuse of firearms are gang related and happen in the poorer areas in cities. Usually the victim and the perpetrator both have criminal records.
https://slowfacts.wordpress.com/2021/07/01/guns-and-proportion-data-on-violence-from-2019/
And the trend is here in Virginia, too. Roanoke City police data shows how guns are misused to create violence in “hot spots.”
https://www.wsls.com/news/local/202...ata-shows-gun-violence-hot-spots-in-the-city/
13. Rare Breed Triggers does not get a preliminary injunction against BATFE
In the unlikely event that the BATFE shows up at your door looking for your Rare Breed trigger, take the Fifth Amendment and lawyer up. You can cooperate once you have your lawyer in the loop.

14. Appomattox County has now reduced CHP fees to $15
It is official: Appomattox County CHP fees are now $15!
