Vaultec Lifepod 2.0 Safe

Does anyone own a Vaultec Lifepod 2.0 Safe? I'm looking for a nice night stand safe and wanted folks opinions. I'm interested in alternative less expensive safes as well. Thanks.

Yes- I own one and use it to secure my firearm in my vehicle if needed--works great for that purpose. No-- wouldn't recommend it for a night stand safe if your desire is to retrieve your firearm quickly.

Looking for a handgun vault, small box type, probably for just one weapon, some mags and ammo, quick open but child and other than me proof, reasonably priced. Any suggestions or favorites? :thumbsup::tdown:

light enough for travel. It seems sturdy enough to keep the contents away from kids. If you're looking for quick access to what's inside, this is not it. The 2 clasps on the sides make it air and water tight, but also make it slower to open.

Thanks, this will keep me busy! I'm rethinking my needs to include quick access. Maybe I'll go biometric with an auto-open lid.

That makes sense. Definitely a good travel safe with the tray storage.

I literally just put the batteries in this one and set it up. For 67 bucks it’s pretty damned nice. I haven’t decided if I will trust the electronics in the heat and cold of my truck yet but this would be great for bedside. The same brand also has cheaper ones without the fingerprint sensor that could work too. I was also going to buy the Lifepod until someone here linked the RPNB safe with the number pad and I figured for a few extra bucks I’d try the fingerprint one since it has good reviews. So far so good and I’ve tested it a fair bit. It’s also heavier than I expected.

Fits my Glock 26 with optic and mag inserted plus 3 more mags. It eventually found a home inside the drawer of my home office desk.

The only thing I dislike about these is that they are not full metal construction. Otherwise I think they are great!

I like it for travel since it is very light as its shell is plastic. For home, I want something I can bolt down so a petty thief couldn't just pick it up and go. Any of the safes (typical sheet metal ones) can be opened by a crook easily if they carry them out of your house. The trick is not letting them get it back to their house and tools.

Definitely looking for something more secure. I will keep the Vaultec in mind for traveling.
