Utah CFP Turnaround Time

Anyone watching this thread who is interested: It took around a month and half or so from mailing the app out. Credit card charged after about 30 days. Just received it in hand today 15 or so days later.

I sent mine in on 8/9. I was charged on 8/18 for the permit. Informed delivery says it's in the mail today. My buddy sent his in the same date and received his 2 days ago.

Utah received my app package on or about 9/17, CC was charged on 9/19 and nothing since. I sent app to Florida (don’t have exact date at hand) they received it day before the hurricane. I figured it would take forever, but received it like 25 days later.

It was approved 09/07 mailed 09/09 and received today. YMMV

I didn’t know until I received my permit in the mail. I had no reason to think I wouldn’t be approved.

^^^ I felt the same way. As long as you can pass a NICS test, you really have no worries.

No email. I noticed the payment went through then got it in the mail. That was all.

I was worried my print card was going to get nixed just because it was done so quickly.

IIRC, my permit took a little over a month, maybe month and a half, from the day I sent it out.

My Utah was in the mailbox 38 days after I sent application.

I don't think I would hold the same meaning as with the ATF stamp purchases. They might not cash checks there until they physically begin to process your paperwork. Probably still sitting in a stack awaiting final review.

I'm only guessing here.

U sure they got it? Did you get delivery confirmation of some sort? Mine was received on the 10/17 and my card was charged on 10/21.

I did not do a confirmation or tracking... So, you got me thinking... hehe

I called them just now (801-965-4445) and asked. They said they put it in the bank today, so I should see it come out by Monday. I guess they are working mine now. Cool.

Yeah that sounds like it took quite a while to get there. Postal worker told me 1st class can take 2-15 business days.

Got my card yesterday in the mail. Dec 17 was when I expected it. That would have been 60 days from credit card transaction

UTAH PERMIT TIMELINE (for me)

August 4 - Took the Maryland W&C training course (three days);
August 10 - Applied for MD W&C;
October 1 - Maryland Permit approved;
October 14 - Maryland Permit printed and mailed;
October 18 - Received Maryland W&C;
October 19 - Mailed Utah paperwork, fingerprint card, photo, and check;
November 11 - Utah cashed my check;
December 14 - Utah Permit approved, printed, and mailed;
December 20 - I received my permit in the mail.

4.5 months total to get MD and UT permits.
2.5 months to get Maryland W&C.
2 months to get Utah CFP.

p.s. I also got my Pennsylvania one in the middle of all that, but it only took like two weeks to get.
