USA Clay Target League Launches New Athlete And Coach Certification Programs

The USA Clay Target League is excited to announce the launch of its new interactive learning website for its SAFE (Student Athlete Firearm Education) and CLASS (Coach Leadership And Safety Support) certification programs – the industry's leading
athlete and coach clay target-specific education and training programs.

The 19-lesson SAFE and 37-lesson CLASS online training features informative videos, creative graphics and diagrams, interactive modules, audio recordings and clay target-related photos presented in an appealing and mobile-friendly components that deliver the best method for teaching procedures and safety to any clay target participant.

“We've delivered what the clay target shooting sport industry has always wanted - an easily-accessible, comprehensive, and very affordable online learning platform" said John Nelson, President of the USA Clay Target League. "Learners can access the SAFE or CLASS certification courses for only $25 each and new League head coaches receive both programs for free."

These certification programs would not be possible without the content assistance, partnership with AllenComm, and substantial development grant and website hosting from The NRA Foundation. "The NRA Foundation is very proud to help with this one-of-a-kind learning tool," says Peter Churchbourne, Director - NRA Hunters' Leadership Forum, "and the USA Clay Target League is one of the largest clay target shooting sport organizations in the world so it is well-deserved.”

The 501(c3) non-profit USA Clay Target League is the largest youth clay target shooting sport program in the nation. The League offers trap, skeet, sporting clays, and 5-stand leagues to secondary and postsecondary schools across the country. The League is the only 100% school-approved clay target shooting sport program in America and the League’s co-ed and adaptive nature are key attractions to schools nationwide. The League is fully Title IX compliant with both male and female athletes competing on the same team. Additionally, it’s an ‘adaptive’ sport, which allows students with physical disabilities to take part.

The League’s priorities are safety, fun, and marksmanship – in that order.

The League is the safest sport in school, with not one reported injury since the inception of the League in 2001. Each athlete must complete firearm safety certification before participation.
