Sales associates at Tyler Firearms are not just sales people or cashiers. We assist customers in selecting the right products for them, walk them through the required paperwork, and ensure everything is ok after the sale. We become their personal assistants in the gun world. Each customer's needs are unique, so the steps we take with each person is also unique. Some require very little assistance, while others require a total hands-on approach. You will be required to determine which approach is needed for each customer.
Responsibilities
- Meet and greet each and every customer as they arrive
- Responsible for firearms, ammunition and accessory sales
- Assist customers in selecting any accessories they may be looking for
- Assist customers through the required paperwork for firearm sales
- Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise and monitoring floor stock
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
Requirements
- Clean criminal background
- Fluent in both spoken and written English at a 12th grade education level
- Applicants must be drug-free, regardless of local, state or federal laws (random drug testing may occur during employment)
- In-depth knowledge of the federal form 4473 and state 77R forms
- The ability to work closely with customers and co-workers
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Typing at speeds of at least 25-30 wpm
- Experience with MS Office and other Windows based applications
- At least 1 year in the shooting sports (recreational and/or competitions)
- At least 1 years of Customer service experience
- Sales experience is preferred, but not required
- Experience working in a retail gun store is not required, but is preferred
Extras
- NRA and/or state certified firearms instructor
- Gunsmithing certifications
- Ranking in firearm competitions (IDPA, IPSC, etc.)
- Prior military service is a plus, but not required

- Pay starting at $20/hr. Raises are performance based.
