That is what is confusing to me...my thoughts are they were trying to get around the "NYC" hoops but it still doesn't make sense to me.

Maybe. But it seems like fraud if you falsify your address of residence on an application. Even if this was as basic as your name and address where you’d like your permit mailed and they mail it off that day and no other checks…falsifying information on an application for anything is fraud.

The NYC permit is the golden ticket.

A NYC Carry Permit is honored by NYC and the rest of NY State.

A NY Carry Permit (Issued at the County Level) is good throughout NY except for NYC.

I don't understand the motivation by behind the men in this story. If I lived in NYC I would want the NYC Carry Permit, not a NY County issued Carry Permit

There are a ton of hacidic family camps and second residences in Sullivan county that the families from the city use. I’d bet that’s likely the case here. Generally, these families have the means and will to sue everyone and anyone. I’d like to see how this one plays out.

Before Bruen ; NYC had separate Permit system; particularly adverse to issuing . Permits issued in the rest of NYS were not valid in NYC .

So if they applied pre 6/23 they were attempting to get a Permit at all .

If they applied post 6/23 ; I'm guessing they figured NYPD would be dragging their feet and stall with maximum effort ; as long as they could; despite SCTOUS .
