Fill me in I’ve never done a Turkey shoot, I’ve seen signs for them read some things still not 100% sure on the rules/objectives.

I’ve heard some old times talk about honing the forcing cones on their guns to get tighter groups. So it’s 1 shot at a set distance winner is with the most pellets on target?

Closest to the center with the provided shells. Currently using estate 8 at 70 ft. For turkeyshooting, you want a shorter forcing cone, not a longer one. I learned the hard way years ago

ammo is always provided to keep things even. Its just regular #8 i think.
They're alot of fun. Funny when your card is full of holes and someone beats you with only 2 pellets on the card but one hit the x. A lot can be dumb luck. getting a choke that patterns sporting shells tight is the key. Sometimes a turkey choke doesnt work that well without a turkey load. My uncles rem magnum 12 fixed full choke shoots amazing and my xxfull carlson;s turkey choke seems to spread out more. one of my other chokes makes a halo without turkey loads. super weird but if your serious about winning i would test some chokes out with the shells they use.

Problem is none of these shoots on the eastern shore police the stock barrel rules. You'll have some yahoo bringing a 870 with a 38" custom length barrel.

Sharptown has a 32 inch limit and open sights. 82 ish feet free standing
