I found a couple of these in a big bucket 'o spent brass I picked up recently...

Anyone have any idea what this is? It's 1.198" long, .313" across the base, and the neck is .210" across and about .182" inside.

The headstamp reads "DAG 05" and it has a standard small rifle primer.

It's pictured here next to a quarter and a piece of .223 brass, for comparison...

4.6x30mm Kraut PDW brass. the DAG headstamp is Dynamit Nobel (sidenote, i think they are the ones that used to use the Geco mark that made those cool flare guns sold by sportsmans guide) in Germany.

indeed a quandary as to who has the weapon firing it......i'd like to shoot with them.

It's probably a 5.7x28, which some police departments (we hear) are using. A friend necks it down to 17 for use on Prairie dogs, where he lives in Colorado.

mark, you must not remember me, I don't take orders well.

as for specops, the only folks I know in have never mentioned use of the 7 in their familiarization courses. If I can find a semi auto one I'm sure that, under the auspices of the 07SOT i get to abuse sometimes, it can be made fully automatic.
