I love that. Very relaxing. The fact that I get up well before dawn probably plays a role here.

I'm a night owl. I don't go to bed till 2. It's a habit I developed many years ago when computers ran a lot faster during the night when nobody was using them. I'd work through the night and sleep in the morning.

    VAX 11/780 FTW!

I was thinking about this thread yesterday. I personally detest summer, hot, humid, sweaty... No thank. I prefer spring and fall and do not mind winter.

Summer seems to fly by these days.
This summer was brutal for me. I took a trip back home to Nebraska in late May, and while I was there I found out that the main trumpet player for the band I've been working with had a stroke, which made the gig calendar all mine. Almost everything we did this summer was an outdoor venue and I had gigs most weekends - sometimes multiple. We played at Mike's North one Sunday afternoon where it was something like 98-99 degrees. I don't like gigging outside anyway, but that was just the icing on the cake.

In general I like summer, but I didn't get to enjoy much of it this year.

I have a gig tomorrow for a crab feast at American Legion Post 276, and then thankfully I get a break for a few weeks before the next one, and I think we're starting to move indoors for gigs from this point until late next spring.

Saw this thread title and thought of the Hooligans. Now they can keep the snow out West, and that would be just fine by me. But a good bunch, and I hope they're doing well, and still shooting on the weekends.

What has become of the hooligans?
IIRC some Karens on the board were giving them shite about them not being safe enough in pictures they were posting. There might be more to it, but I remember one of the last pictures posted was a hooligan giving the one finger salute from the firing line on the range.

One of my favorite threads thanks for the bump.

This year I’m enjoying the slight cool down from coastal Georgia.

Just what I was coming to ask.

    Good question.

To which I’d posit the butthead per capita ratio became not worth it.
    This.

The band that you're in is ABSOLUTELY awesome. :party29: I've seen you guys play twice now at the Legion. We really enjoyed listening to the horns this last Saturday. Who is that guy on the trombone? He was fun to watch. :)

Edit: Never mind on who's on Trombone. I just found it

Sent you a PM! I'm happy that another member of the board got to hear me play.

    Dang ! Nine Guys !
By the way, if you visit the band website, I'm neither Chris Grimaldi nor Steve Streckfus. Chris Grimaldi is the guy who had the stroke, and Steve has been out of the loop for quite a while - his son was involved in a lot in HS, and he was doing a lot to support those endeavors so he bowed out for a while. I've tried to get him involved again, but he's hesitant to jump in because he knows how tough this gig is, and he has been off the horn for a while.

Getting back to the subject of the thread, I've enjoyed the cooler temps lately. I go for a 30 minute walk first thing every day, just to get the blood flowing, and the cooler temps have made that a lot more enjoyable. I also walk at night, and I suspended that during the summer months when the temp wasn't getting below the mid 80s, even at night.
