18" lightweight PSA grendel upper on an aero lower. Still need to swap the gas block for a superlative arms adjustable one and the trigger for a mbt2s that's still in the mail, but getting closer to being done. Would also like a 45'd mrdo, but we'll get there eventually.
Dam that's pretty sweet. I know that would make me happy.I ended up tossing a mbt2s into that aero lower, but i swapped this ruger lower over to this 6.5 upper because they fit tighter together. There's no wobble whatsoever between them, so that's nice.
I had feeding issues from PSA with this upper. It wasn't getting enough gas because the factory PSA adjustable gas block leaked badly from the front and back. At first, it was just a straight-pull rifle. I sent it back and PSA said they "adjusted it to factory settings". When I got it back, it cycled hornady and Barnes, but had an occasional hiccup with wolf and was a straight-pull with ppu. Getting it back home, the gas block was still burping gas out the adjustment screw, under the front, and out the back. Screws were all tight.
I tossed an aero adjustable gas block on and all issues are gone. No more gas leakage and it feeds everything, to include the weak-sauce ppu. The aero block seems to be awesome so far.
Good news, the thing seems to shoot well. Here's groups from Hornady and Barnes. 3 shot and 5 shot at 100 yds. Still need to cant off a red dot to wrap this thing up.
Most recent build. Spikes lower, Aero upper reciever. Criterion 223 wylde barrel , BCM bolt, SSA-E trigger, Midwest handguard. Vltor stock. Vortex pst2 1-6 with reptilia mount. Haven't had it to the range yet.

Welcome to the slippery slope...
Love the shorties. Gonna have to crank out some form 1’s. I’ve got a bunch of AR’s, but I love the handling of my 10.5 “pistol” the best. Makes my 20” HBAR seem like a musket.
And another fixed carry handle. Nice! You say "musket" like it's a bad thing.....
