I'm assuming this thread was started in response to David Hogg most recent rant about the meaning and interpretation of the Second Amendment. I could be wrong since that was the other typical argument about "militia" but the timing seemed coincidental.

No, actually I thought the quoted/linked article was of sufficient interest in and of itself, and thought I'd toss it into the pile for consideration. Just the luck of the draw.
