(...and his thread about the old BP pistol he picked up recently :banghead:) When I saw the Pietta 1858 Remingtons on sale at Cabela's with free shipping (I'm such a sucker for free shipping ;)) I simply couldn't help myself.

    :innocent0

That was Tuesday night. A half hour ago I got an email with a tracking number. About a half hour before that UPS pulled in and I signed for a package. Talk about quick shipping!

    Inside was this:

It's ALL your fault! Posting your pics and vids of fun stuff where vulnerable MDS members get all revved up? What were you thinking?

    There is also Kirst:

    And Howell's:

You might also want to replace the loading lever with a base pin, some of which are made for quick cylinder changes. These are for Ruger including the Old Army to give you the idea. They are also base pins for Pietta's and others Google will find them.

    I have the Howell
You have to use "cowboy" loads so ammo price goes up unless you reload.
I already had some trail boss and 500 lead bullets so I gave it a go. My Rem58 is more accurate shooting cartridges but I did it so I could shoot it indoors in the winter and "because I could"

Still, one needs to experience the black powder once in their lives.
