I use Tapatalk for three different forums on my iPhone. Of all of those sites, this one has become very slow to respond, taking 2-5 minutes to refresh data over the past several weeks.

Anyone else noticing this and have any ideas for client-side troubleshooting?

I've noticed the same thing. A few of the boards I use tapatalk for are all taking forever to refresh. I thought it might be my router but it wasn't. No idea why or how to fix :(

I realize that. But what, exactly does it do?
It presents the forums differently than using the default browser on a smartphone. Some functionality is more limited, but, for me, posts are easier to read, quote, and reply to without requiring pinch-zooming all the time. In the past, Tapatalk has refreshed pages quicker than the default app as well.

Ditto for me, yesterday. Haven't tried the forum with tapatalk yet today.

I thought it was just typical comcast suckage (Wi-Fi is always on at home).

Not from my experience. I hesitated in starting this post until I had enough anecdotal experience to show that it was something about the interaction of MDS with Tapatalk. The experience is the same, regardless of the underlying data network. The refresh times are staying consistent across:

    • 50+MB FiOS at home
    • 15MB FiOS at parents (both sets)
    • Comcast cable ISP at two different friends' homes
    • AT&T 3G/4G/LTE connections on two different smart phones
    • High-speed Internet at both of my corporate office locations

Maybe the NSA backdoor into Tapatalk is glitching?

Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
