I want to know if I can remove the barrel with the gas block and tube attached, to swap to a different AP M4E1 enhanced upper?

Just remove the gas tube at the gas block and loosen the barrel nut?

That's what I'm trying to do remove the barrel nuts with the gas block in place.

I don't know what kind of barrel nut your upper has. Does it have a free floating forend? Does the gas tube go through the barrel nut and clock with it? An optical example would help. It would also be much easier if you removed the gas tube, either way. Do you have a roll pin punch set?

I do not have a roll pin set and even if I did I don't trust myself ******* with the gas tube/block.

Yeah, you will need to punch out the roll pin that holds the gas tube in the gas block. It's not a big deal. You can get a set on amazon, just make sure it is a punch set made in the USA. Chynese punches are garbage.

You will need a barrel nut tool for that barrel nut. It is proprietary.

As an alternative to removing the gas tube from the gas block, it may be easier to leave them connected and just loosen the gas block and slide it off or at least forward enough that the gas tube doesn't interfere with the barrel nut. Sometimes this is as easy as loosening a couple of set screws, depending on how your gas block is mounted to the barrel.

To be clear the blue is part of the upper the red is the barrel nut. It screws on the inside of the blue

You will either have to have to remove the gas tube(preferred method) or the gas block(the removal of which will require gas port realignment, which can be more difficult).

Where are you? (Hint: put a vague/rough location in your profile)
I have several of those AP wrenches. One comes w/ every upper.
Yes, you can remove the nut, take the whole assembled barrel/gas block/gas tube off and swap to another enhanced upper.
