Was at Engage the other day and saw an AUG on their rack. I assumed that it was a MSAR but was told that it was a NATO version AUG A3M1--they recently got it approved by the MSP due to the incompatibility of parts between the standard AUG and the NATO AUG. The only caveat here is that the 16" barrel that you see most often is not MD compliant without a pinned muzzle device (the muzzle device has to be around 4" as well). 18", 20", and 24" are gtg.

I may have just purchased an AUG...

    That’s great news!

I was (Maxwell Smart voice) “this close” to buying one from Bereli.com but, after trying the trigger on the Aug and the tavor x95 I went the IWI route (twice now, actually :) )

still, the Aug beckons me …

Cool. Always kinda wanted an Aug, but the MSAR ones had some issues. Love to have the real deal.

I saw one on the wall there a few weeks ago. Kind of blew me away.
It is not showing as approved on the MDSP reviewed firearms list. But I would not hesitate to buy one.(Except the $2000 of course)

You will still need to get it shipped to a FFL that will pin/weld the muzzle device.

16" AUG is just over 28" so you could get a suppressor mount installed.
I confirmed with Engage that they will, so no issues there.

Any idea on how to get this here in MD?
Seemed Bereli also has 18" and 20" barrel available, can this be swapped out before transfrered?
Not sure if you ever figured it out, but you can just get the AUG shipped to you with the 16", and then bring the 18" or 20" barrel to the FFL to have them swap it at the store before you take it home.

That's an idea...! Although I came across an\ on-line place that had a CA version with 20" barrel , but no foregrip plus , that whatever it is behind pistol grip which can be dremeled out. I think it was around $1.8K

Which version of X95 did you get, aren't most of them below OAL 29" and non MD legal?
