I am currently using a Lyman 1200 Pro to clean my brass. It does a good job on brass that is not super dirty or stained. I am thinking of going with a setup that uses stainless steel pins as the cleaning media. Is it worth the extra cost and where would be a good place to start?

Ifyou like bright shiny brass, and don't mind taking more time and effort, they are good.

I prefer to just tumble with corn cob to remove dirt and grime.

Besides the stainless steel pins, it looks like Lemi-Shine Detergent
is also added during the process. How well does this remove case lube?

Someone has the frankfurt arsenal wet tumbler in sale this week. I just saw it. Will look for the link.

midwayusa has this on sale and this is the way to go. Great little setup volume wise and cost wise. Great bang for the buck...

I have one and love it.

There's a couple you tube video using a Harbor Freight dual rock tumbler and the stainless pins and the brass is awesome looking, they use Lemi Shine and water tumble a couple hours. For drying they put it in a cloth bag and hang it on the dryer door so when its closed it lays against the inside of the door. I was thinking of trying it out.it seems like my walnut media just takes forever and I feel the brass could look better.

I lay mine out on the kitchen counter overnight on bath towels. Works great. I got drying marks on my wifes new alum cookie sheets early on and I still hear about it every now and then.....:sad20: Bath towels is less hassle all around....

I use the harbor freight tumbler and it works great. I have a baby bottle nipple drying rack (it kinda looks like a piece of giant astro-turf.) I have found it quicker than poking media out of flash holes. 10 minutes in the sink and 200 pieces of brass are drying.

I'd like to switch to this method, but really need to do more than a few hundred at a time. I'm sick of dust. (Dryer sheets aren't cutting it.)

Some people do the build your own, or use a plastic cement mixer.
