For my stack-on cabinet I had to put some ammo cans at the bottom so I could rest my AR15s on them in order for them to be able to have the barrel high enough to use the barrel rests. Note how the pictures all involve hunting rifles/shotguns? None of my MSRs were long enough, even with the included barrel rests. Mine didn't come with any options for mounting the barrel rests low enough to fit my MSRs, thus me having to stack them on top of ammo cans. Not a huge deal, just something to be aware of.

During the holidays I wandered into my favorite WM and discovered they had Stack-On 8 or 10-gun real safes for $199 (Normally $279 down from an even higher MSRP). I was looking to add another one anyway so bought the only one they had in stock at the time. My other one is one of the Stack-On cabinets with the dual key locks. At least it has a 30 min rating at 1400 degrees which the cabinets don't have.

Man, save your money and buy a good safe, look at the locking mechanism. With all the financing available you can't go wrong. A good safe will last a lifetime or two.

Really depends on the individual, the person's need and their finances. I have one these Stack-ons and I'm happy with it. Is it as good as an excellent safe--no. Do I have to worry about payments--no. Will it keep my granddaugher out--yes.

I own one, and am happy with it.

It is not a "safe" at all. It is a thin steel container that anyone with a tool could get into within a short time. The point of the thing, in my case, is to keep young kids out, until they learn respect for guns.

I don't consider a "safe" a "safe" unless you're spending thousands of dollars. By industry guidelines, it's much the same. Even something like a Liberty Fatboy is not a safe. It's a residential container, or some such.

For keeping something close, but out of sight. It'll fill the bill.

Sure as hell beats keeping a rifle/shotgun under the bed, IMO. :)

I tried to find one of those, but wasn't willing to spend the money. $279 was the best I saw that for.

Nowhere in this thread is it suggested that the listed is a "safe". It's enough to keep honest people honest and the curious from getting too curious.

    I'm digging mine so far.

Got mine as a gift, so I can't comment on price. I know they got it from Wally-world though, shipping label on the box.

In bold - 100% agree there.

Anyone with a bit of determination and ingenuity could get into one in less than 15 minutes, I'm sure.

For me, it's just a place to keep a few items I use regularly.

Keep your eye out at BJ's, they had them on sale before Christmas for 99.00 after 50.00 rebate.

The middle one is the one i got from BJ's in Whitemarsh for 99.99 around Christmas, but they had them for a decent price even before discounting for Christmas.
