A SKS rifle that I have shoots low and to the left. I should lower the front sight elevation to correct the shoots low. Correct?

Yes, as wilcam47 said above.

You'll want to screw the front post down and press it left.

I just remember it as move the sights to line up to where the bullet is hitting.
