Who would like to shoot a "Skins" match at Mayberry or another local range. Just a rough format example.
Precision rifle match out to 600 yards, prone and positional shooting, metal and physical stress.
6 or 7 stages $10 each stage, all shooters shoot all stages.
Winner of each stage wins $100 cash.
No limit on how many stages you can win.
Stages would be timed or have x counts to prevent ties.
In case of tie pot would roll into next stage.
    Max 30 shooters
    Min 20 shooters
    Any thought?

This would be interesting, what would the round count be for each stage? Maybe do a payout to the top 2 on each stage $75, $25 just so a (ringer) doesn't get away with all the cash.

What's the difference between your idea and the matches they currently run? Not trying to be a downer but it sounds like their current match.

The difference is that there would be a winner of each stage that would win a cash prize. It would be like shooting 6 or 7 individual matches within one event.

Location will be the Mayberry Game Protective Assocation, between Westminster and Taneytown. Date will most likely be next year as our precision rifle series has this year pretty full. We'll keep you updated as the details get worked out.

If I could make a suggestion it would be to have a variety of stages stressing very different skills. Perhaps even allow a selection of 2 or even three different rifles for the various stages (sort of in keeping with a golf bag of clubs). So perhaps a cold bore shot at 500 yds. Then a stage where one has to move to a position and take a quick shot under a short time constraint. Then a stage where no adjustments can be made to the scope over a number of distances. Then a stage requiring ... well you get the point, no one should be able to win every stage but many should have a shot at one or another of the stages.

The money would be great for the club, 25 X $10=$250 with a $100 pay out, Each stage.

If some of the stage could be run on different ranges it would make the match move much faster. I know Mayberry is a little short of range space, but perhaps an extreme urban sniper stage on the pistol range?

This sounds like a good idea for a match especially if a carbine guy (well lets face it just not a great shot) has a chance of winning one of the stages.
