They aren't as hard to find as I was expecting. Now the question becomes P365 OR P365X?

I have an x and I don't think the 365 would work well with my mitts and a std mag, it would have to be the 12rd and then dropping it as mentioned, is a concern. I actually changed up to the Wilson grip module to get a little more meat in my hand from the factory grip module on my spectre.

You can always go larger, you can’t go smaller. Personally I’d never consider anything larger than a 365. Get extended magazines/grips for when I want and be able to go small when I want as well. Someone I know from another forum makes these. I have them on my Glock 43 and I think it makes a huge difference.

I did some comparing of the various 365 models before I went with the 365X and would offer you the following:

1) All models were comfortable, however, the basic 365 was only comfortable with the extended mag.

2) The 365X, with the slightly longer grip, puts the bottom of the mag lower in hand so you can maintain your full firm grip when dropping the mag. With the basic 365, I had to consciously remember to open/relax my pinky to let the mag drop, especially with the 12 round mag where your pinky and heal of hand are gripping the bottom/extended portion of the mag. This made the operation of the X more consistent with my other pistols.

3) I had never used a flat trigger before the 365X, but I like it.

Good points, and unless one needs a very small grip, I would agree the P365X is a great 'middle ground'.

I'm a short guy, with a gut, that wears his clohes about one size too small. So, I'm most likely going to start carrying with a pocket holster. My thoughts are the smaller the better, so the half inch on the X seems like it might make it print less.

Unless you compare the P365 10 round flush mag to the P365X 12 round mag, there's really not much difference. The front tip of the P365 10 round 'pinkie mag' is almost as long as the 12 rounder.

But since I would prefer to carry 12 rounds rather than 10, I would guess that a 12 round mag in P365 would be the same as P365X with a 12 round mag.

Yes, exactly the same length, just differing floorplate assemblies to close the gap between the 12 round mag and the base of the P365 grip, and to blend the mag with the grip.

I'm guessing the 10 round P365X mag is just a neutered 12 round.

Yes, both sides of the 10 round X/XL mags are dimpled to limit capacity. There is a difference in round count window locations and markings, but otherwise identical. Guts are the same, if the dimples weren't there, it would hold 12 rounds and run perfect.

I like the flat trigger and the slide that could mount an optic. I like that these guns are modular and you could convert a 365 to a 365X. But, the cost of buying the X and shrinking down to 365 is just a frame and a mag. To get a 365 modded up to an X with aflat trigger and slide is close to the cost of a whole gun. This makes the price difference of the X pretty cost effective.

If you want a flat trigger and an optic, the best approach is to buy the P365X.

I have a P365, a P365X and a P365XL, and enough spare grip modules to set them all up the same in either P365 or X/XL configuration. I have tried every combination. Unless your hands are small enough to comfortably control and utilize the P365 with the 10 round FLUSH mag, the P365 is NOT appreciably smaller than the P365X and the X comes with the milled slide and flat trigger.

There is a 'second generation' XL slide that allows removal of the optics' cut cover plate without losing the rear sight. In the first generation XL slide, the sight comes off with the plate. If one somehow believes that using the sights to find the dot will be faster than using the sights to find the target, it might pay to hold out for a second generation X slide. Because they are set up now to do the XL slides, I have to think is the same cut/sight arrangement is forthcoming in the X models as well.

Yeah, I’m loving my P365X w/WCG rip and I am in the market for a second one. Look for a 43 and a 27/26 in the classifieds soon.

My 100 pound niece carries a G19 and once she shoots this thing, I think she’ll want one too.

I carry a P365XL Spectre Comp with a Holosun 407K. I typically carry it in a Tier1 Axis Elite, although I have a Tenicor Velo4 that I sometimes use.

Just picked up a 507k for a good price, so... it's going on the Spectre to see how I like it. I tend to shoot better with my other red dots and I like the reticle on the 507 so far.

I took your advice. Three days until I take possession of a P365X. This one has the cover plate that leaves the rear sight in place.

My newish XL has the new style optic plate that leaves the rear sight intact. Also, the slide is marked "X" with no "L" maybe it's because I got it for Christmas (get it?...no el )

I broke it in at a steel match Sunday: about 150 rnds total, including fmj and 3 types of hollow points. No malfunctions.

They stopped putting the 'L' on the XL slides when they revised the optic cut. Already creating confusion...

Same here, I found the XL a little long for comfortable carry and initially went with the P365X, then realized I was going to want a spare so I grabbed a P365.

I did end up finding a used (old style) XL slide and putting a Holosun on it as a range gun, but EDC the P365 or P365X.

Not too long ago, I bought a Brownells stripped slide and have been carrying my P365 with a Holsun 407K. I am very happy with it and decided not to put back up sights on the slide. I got used to the optic pretty fast since I was using the same sight on my Ruger 22/45 for shooting plates.

I have a Vedder Rapid Tuck which is pretty comfortable. I had to take a dremel to it when I added the Holsun 407K though. With the dremel and a heat gun, I was able to modify it to fit my gun.

Talking about guns with stock Sig grips here:

Holsters designed for the P365XL will typically accept the P365 & P365X, but will be a little longer than needed.
Holsters designed for the P365 OR P365X will fit either the P365X or the P365, but will be too short for a P365XL.

None of the above holsters will fit the Macro because the front rail is wider and longer.
Holsters designed for the Macro will be too big in the front to secure the P365, P365X or the P365XL.

Just added a magguts kit to one of the 12rd std mags for the x and I really like it. The extra pinky wrap is really helpful with my hands and the added baseplate thickness is insignificant. So it's a 14+1 now.

I need to run it a bit to be sure it's not going to hiccup, but I doubt it will. It really works well with the slight flare in the base of the grip on the WC grip module. Looks like they were made for each other.. lol

I dont have a small slide or a frame. I might just buy an x just to have. I have the macro stuff.
