    Anno was DIY sulfuric acid, distilled water, manual battery charger.

    Etching was first attempt at electro-chemical (acid) with vinyl stencil. 1 cup vinegar, 1 tsp salt. 12v 6amp positive terminal on the part, negative terminal on end of q tip. Dip q tip in vinegar, clip on terminal, go over part until q tip black, repeat until desired depth. Will bubble and a little smoke.

    That's cool would like to see a YouTube video of the etching being done.

    Have you thought about doing a step by step on the annodizing?

    I would but it has already been done, that's what I followed. I believe it was either on calguns or ar15 the user was vaderspade. I deleted the bookmark on the phone here, I might still have it saved on PC. Or search/google vaderspade DIY anodizing.

    Hardest part was the prep, and loosing the elect connection once there was oxide growth (aluminum oxide is not as conductive and you can lose the connection if not monitoring)

    I just finished my first AR build tonight. Can wait to go and shoot. Thanks Mike for the help Saturday.
