I picked up my Dissent at Tylers and shot 75 rounds of supers yesterday at 50 yards. Since I wanted to "get out and shoot it", I had to cobble up a sight and brace setup. The only red dot I had laying around was a Vortex Crossfire which does not work well with my astigmatism. For a brace, I put together a 1913 adapter, buffer tube and pulled a SB brace off another rifle.

I had several different loads and tried them all at 50 yds. From 123 gn to 150gn both jacketed and powder coat. After zeroing, I was able to shoot a five shot group with Hornady 150gn bullets into a 1.5 group from a 4x4 rest. The rest of the shots were fired off my elbows on a bench and resulted in a 4.5 inch group with some fliers. Not bad considering I was doing double taps as well.

The gun performed perfectly with not one problem. The trigger measured consistently at 5lb 7oz with my Lyman gauge although it felt at least a pound lighter. The let off is super crisp and the reset is @ 1/8 inch. It is a CMMG "Zero" part which I understand is made by a vendor to CMMG specs.

I have ordered an adapter from Griffon for the 5/8-24 threaded barrel so I can put my Obsidian 9 on it and shoot subs. I recommend it and Tylers who sold it to me for 1860 out the door. If you want it in black, it costs an extra $40. That color wasn't in stock so I settled for what ever color (steel ) that I got. Here are some poor pics since my camera flash is intermittent.

I am presently looking at the dissent and seem to be quality. I might want to drop some cabbage on one.

Don't get me wrong, it is well made but I don't know if it is worth what they want for it. I checked their home page to see what they sell the uppers for and my upper is listed at $1449. 95.

I guess we are paying for the R&D but, come on, the painted versions are not even anodized as far as I can tell and the inside of the upper isn't even painted.

I spent the excessive cash because I wanted it for the times I have to go up to Newark, DE or Philly since the yutes are carrying better hardware these days. Am I getting paranoid, no, I am just planning in advance as I have always done.

Could I have built one of the Brownells models, yes but my time is too important these days to get involved in building and testing stuff.
