    Too bad. I wouldn't take that one if you gave it to me.

    The time period is sure correct and it does not appear to have been arsenally refurbed, but the front sight isn't right for a SCW. The wire hangers are missing, too.

    The cross in the stock is another indicator of a SCW. Unrefinished stock with cartouche still present. Im in at 9/10, its SCW. Some had globe front sights, notall were blades.

    Yep, SCW, as yellowsled indicated many did keep their as issued globe sights, and it was very popular to remove the metal sling hangers, the real giveaway is the year, a very large chunk of the 1936 and 1937 production years wound up in Spain. looks like it may have the flaming bomb MP8 cartouche on the stock so yes, it is a tragedy someone cut the stock, still could be restored back for not much dough.
