Almost done restoring the latest pickup, took it apart today and cleaned everything, replaced the sling slots that were missing, cleaned the barrel, took the bolt apart and cleaned it, will take it out to the range and enjoy it soon.
My Grandmother's brother was KIA as a machine gunner in this war, so SCW stuff interests me.

Hold the phone- looks like this is a Dragoon? Can you share some receiver pics or pics of any of the Spanish related markings?

Yes, it is a dragoon, here are the receiver/barrel pics. There are really only two sources of dragoons, either the stuff the Soviets sent to Spain in the mid 1930s or Finn captures, the Soviets updated all of theirs to 91/30 specs after the war. the only proof that it is SCW is that ink stamp under the buttstock, other that the telltale signs, total mismatch, no import marks and heavily sanded stock.

Oh, cool. Glad they got there okay. I just found a M91 stock for that old 1897 and it has one pair of sling slots screwed in,one set nailed in. These mosin builders can't do anything consistently. :)
