What slugs are you using in your savage 220 20ga? I been using 3” Accutips but they are impossible to find. If anyone has any they want to part with, let me kno. But would love to know what people are using with proven success!

I just use the 2 3/4" accutips. Nothing is going to be easy to find right now. It's deer season. I normally spend the off season to restock on those things. They start showing up on shelves in April.

    Look for Lightfields.

Also check with BassPro in Hanover and also Anglers Sport Center

I've used the Accutips, Federal Trophy copper and Hornady SST's in mine. All patterned well for me, but each barrel is different.

I had good luck with the Accutips and Lightfields. No experience with the Feds and the Hornadys wouldn't hit the broad side of a barn from the inside.

I agree with outrider. Mines been dead nuts accurate with accutips if you can find them

Following. This will be my second season with my 220 and I have never been able to find accu tips. Is Remington still making them? Were they a casualty of the bankruptcy? I have only used Hornady sst and they have been accurate enough. I kind of rushed sighting it in last year but will be fine tuning it this year. I'll post up the results.

    At 100 yards?
Yes. I was shooting other guns from a different bench that day. The first shot was the first shot. The other three followed in 5-10 minute increments.

When that gun came out, it was the hot lick. Everyone wanted one. I put in an order at Atlantic Guns for one after visiting several gun stores, including out of state stores, and striking out. That gun has lived up to the hype.

You have to start looking in late spring. You'll never find them in deer season. Look all summer long.

-- it was in Apr 2021, I added myself to notification several times. You need to be quick and make a purchase in next 15 mins after you get the notification. Otherwise it will be out of stock quickly.
I try to keep at least a case in rotation. I'll put a couple down range every year. After that, I'm hunting.

I don't have a Savage 220 but my brother does. He does hunt a lot with it in DE since he has no choice. His is dead nuts on with Federal Trophy copper but it also likes Browning BXS. YMMV
