For you revolver guys out there.....what is your opinion of the Smith & Wesson Model 60 Revolver?? Also what the approx value? I looked up the gun on GunBroker and there is only 1 at $499. Thats way too much but I found one used in VG Good Condition and wood grips like the one pictured. I'm wondering if i should make an offer on it.

It reminds me of the S&W Model 36/37 (alum)

    thanks!!

They are still making them, and I think they can take .357mag now. The new ones have the internal lock though.

The 60 would be a great carry or back up gun for you.

I had a model 36 that I used for a carry gun when I had a permit back in the 80's. It was a great little gun and you could find a ton of holsters for it. I loved that gun and almost replaced it with a used one a couple years ago, but went with a used S&W 66 instead.
I still have the receipt from when I bought it. I was working in a gun shop back then and paid wholesale......$160.

I would say average price is around $4-500, I have a nickel model 36, it was one of my carry guns until I moved here. Love it! I personally wouldn't buy a newer smith with internal lock although I do own one( model 327pc). Another thing I'd look for is if it is pinned and recessed which increases value. Good luck.

Did you say group buy? Great idea FPS... I'm in.

Back to reality... I shot my 64 again on Monday and now prefer it over my 66 and Police Service Six for target shooting. Thanks again!
